World Domination

My interest in blogging was revived last November of 2007 after hibernating for a while from blogging. I have compiled in this place most of my previous blog’s content as a means to archive them properly.

happy birthday to me!

It was on this very day twenty-six years ago when it was said that end of the world has begun. That the earth would suddenly stop spinning on its axis and get sucked along with the rest of the solar system into an enormous black hole which would have appeared out of nowhere.

And then I was born.

And that’s when all of that nonsense got trashed.

sketchup! sketchup!

I’ve been playing around with a trial version of sketchup 3D for the past month.

Made by @last software, this 3D program is far easier to use than 3d Studio Max and Autocad. It’s perfect for those we-need-that-yesterday rendering jobs.

The sketch of the dual screen G5 on my new header was made in sketchup and was exported to photoshop where it was reversed and saved as a jpeg for my blog.

You’ll be hearing more of my sketchup experience later.

Work is getting a lot more interesting as we start work on the designs for the hotel’s christmas collaterals.

I made three studies and submitted two (I didn’t like my first study).
Both were scrapped so I made one more which I think is what they’d prefer.

Well, let’s see if it does get approved.

just moved in…

Yep, we have just moved out of our little apartment in Baguio to our new much bigger place in Manila.

It’s nice to finally have your own decent place again. My wife and kids are now here for good, which is much more convenient for me since I wouldn’t have to travel to Baguio every other weekend. I’d also get to see my kids every single day.

Sarap!

the little things…

We were able to get all the stuff that we needed for the printshop to run properly.
Now we’re only waiting for the drafting table and the digital camera.

And after drafting such a wish-come-true list,
just when the stuff are being delivered, we remembered that
we did not order keyboards, mice and speakers…

Aaaaarghhhh!!!

No big deal…

I rushed over to the nearest shop and got the missing stuff.

We just got most of the new stuff that will be delivered for the printshop.

Insurance will be covering ALL of the lost/soaked equipment.

Here’s a list of what we’ll be getting.

1. Powermac G5 Dual 2.6 Ghz
2. Three Pentium IV 3.2Ghz with 2GB of RAM with Dual 19″ flat CRTs
(fully customized by me from the board to the casings.
They come in Lian-li aluminum V1000 cases)
3. A designjet 5500ps 42inch
4. Three Epson 2100 printers
5. A HP 4250n Laser printer
6. A Wacom Intuos 3 tablet
7. Two new hydraulic drafting tables
8. Some nice chairs (we almost forgot)
9. A new Digital Camera (8 megapixel)

It really makes me wanna’ say “thank God for the fire”…

Happy New Year!

And a very belated Merry Christmas too.

Nope, I didn’t forget about greeting, it’s just that something came up last December 22, nothing big really, just some fire that broke out at 6:00am in the morning of that day and “burned down” the printshop.

Did I say burned down? We’ll It was more like “hosed down” to me. I got a call from Lui at 7:00am in the morning. She told me to rush over to the office coz’ the office burned down. So I rushed over to see for myself.

The place was thrashed! It looked like a scene from the movie “aliens 2″ (right in the part where Ripley burns down the alien queen’s lair). Everything was covered in sooth. The ceiling, or what was left of it, was turned into pieces of warped and mangled steel and plastic with all of the vents, pipes and wires hanging out.

Man, this would take one hell of a clean-up…
